The Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University Delhi is pleased to announce programming for the launch of our upcoming report on Non-Consensual Synthetic Imagery (NCSI) on November 16, 2026 in New Delhi.
Our event, 'Illustrated Fakely: Uncovering Implications of Non-Consensual Synthetic Imagery (NCSI) for Women' aims to bring together policy makers, civil society, researchers, students, journalists and the industry, to deliberate on the subject, and to find pathways to tackle it. Our community partners for the event are IT for Change, Point of View and Khabar Lahariya. It is also accompanied by an art display.
The event aims to present the insights from our upcoming report titled ‘“But that's not me!": Sexualised Deepfakes in Law, Tech and Society’ that discusses the implications and harms of NCSI for women in the socio-political contexts of the Global South, and brings together diverse stakeholders to inform future strategy, best practices and responses to the issue.
The report:
Art display: The event also aims to articulate our work and the gravity of the subject matter through art. The art will be curated to reflect on and sensitively depict the diverse harms and impacts faced by women due to the non-consensual use of their likeness for creation or dissemination of deepfakes. The displayed art will also find space in our final report.
